Pono

Here is big Pono from Sutter's first litter.  He is such a nice guy!  Stella said she had to have him shaved recently and he looks so much better with all his pretty hair!

New Pics!

Here is Sally and her brother Charlie! Very cute!

And here are some pics of Roca (formerly CC, the darkest, smallest girl). She looks a lot like her dad!! Wow, looking at these pics right next to each other you can really see the differences in these girls. Sally looks sooo much more like a golden retriever and Roca looks like a doodle. Roca even has her little beard in! What a difference there is between these sisters, of course both of them are absolutely beautiful.

Wow look at those paws! People say that about Ruby, but I think she has little paws, but these paws on Roca look pretty big to me. And she was supposed to be the smallest one!

Almost 4 months old....

I still have to lift Rubicon up onto our bed when she wants to snuggle with us, and I have been noticing that she is getting heavier and heavier! I just weighed her and she is just a little over 35 lbs. The growth charts I have found on the internet say that to guess their adult weight, take their weight at 4 months and double it! I was really hoping for a smaller dog than 70 -80lbs!!! However I also weighed Sutter because she has been looking very chunky from sneaking all of Ruby's puppy food, and she came in at 60lbs! That is huge for her, so she is going on a diet tomorrow. Sutter normally springs up onto my bed, and she is so heavy that she actually missed yesterday and had to take a second jump. I can't wait for the next set of shots so I can get these girls out and get them some more exercise. All of us need it!

Sutter and Ruby Thanksgiving 2009

Our property in Stonyford. They LOVE it, no leashes except when the boys are riding! I am still afraid one of them will run in front of a dirtbike and get hit or cause a crash, so tied up when the bikes get fired up. But other than that, free to play in all of that red dirt all the time.
I had to wash Sutter 4 times to get her blonde again! I didn't think Ruby was all that dirty until I put her in the shower and watched 2 lbs of red dirt go down the drain!

Happy girls!

Awwww, Isn't Dana cute?

Thanks to Donna for these cute pics of Dana (formerly Irish!)

With her brother, Boston, at Halloween!

Sally!

I just got this cute picture of Sally (Daffy) who lives in Bakersfield with Heather and her family. Heather says she is doing very well. Still some issues with the submissive peeing when she gets really excited, but hopefully she will outgrow that. It is a very common problem for girls (and some boys) and they usually outgrow it, but it is a pain until then. Ruby just started doing it occasionally. And Sally has also had a slight rash on her belly, the vet gave her some antibiotics that worked, but then when she was done with the pills, it came back. So Heather tried just putting some hydrocortisone on it and she said that seemed to work and clear it up. She also said she is using the "How to Raise The Perfect Dog" book by Ceasar Milan and it is really helping. Even Aly, who is only 5 years old, is able to walk Sally without her pulling on the leash. That is awesome. She also knows sit, stay, shake, comes when she is called and is learning to "leave it". Good job Rooke family! You are inspiring me to do some more work with Ruby! I haven't even started on shake yet! And just another note - if anybody has to travel and has a pup that gets car sick, dramamine works. Of course reduce the dosage accordingly, but it has certainly helped us. Thanks for the picture Heather!
